United Nations Climate Negotiations

Our Climate Negotiations Task Force champions the voices of young leaders, especially from Global South communities, to shape a just and fair future. As the world races to meet the Paris Agreement's critical goal of limiting warming to 1.5°C, climate diplomacy remains out of reach for many of those who will inherit the impact. We break down those barriers by empowering emerging changemakers to directly engage in global negotiations, amplify transformative policy solutions, and drive meaningful, inclusive climate progress from the frontlines.

Together, we build a foundation for a sustainable tomorrow shaped by the leaders of today.

Our COP31 Goals

Minimize Overshoot, Secure a 1.5-Aligned Future, & Deliver on the Transition Away from Fossil Fuels

COP31 must recognize and commit to minimizing overshoot of 1.5 degrees, including by calling for updated and revised NDCs that are ambitious, youth-inclusive, and gender-responsive, and delivering on the transition away from fossil fuels as agreed at COP28.

Strengthen Intergenerational Partnership, including through ACE

Ensure the new Action for Climate Empowerment Action Plan delivers for young people, including centering their role as climate decision-makers and implementers, and the importance of providing accessible funding to youth-led organizations

Adopt an Inclusive, Rights-Based Just Transition Mechanism

Adopting a just transition mechanism that delivers for those most vulnerable, advances the energy transition, and promotes skills-development that empowers the next generation as climate leaders is critical to achieving climate action.

Whether you’re going to COP or following from home, join us for COP4ALL!

International climate negotiations have been a slow and exclusive process. From visa injustice to youth tokenism, there is a lot of work ahead before young people can actively and equitable shape international policy outcomes.

That’s why we’re returning the power to where it truly belongs and giving youth the tools to take back our future: COP4All closes the gap between the negotiation rooms and people, especially young people, making COP a space for everyone, everywhere. Whether attending COP in-person or following from home, COP4ALL will help you navigate negotiations, engage with side events, and reflect on the daily highs and lows from youth climate advocates

Our Impact on Climate Policy

  • Our delegates secured the first-ever inclusion of young people as key decision-makers in climate policy as part of the Action for Climate Empowerment Work Programme at COP27!

  • Our program has trained and support 150+ young people, primarily from the Global South and low income communities, in actively engaging in climate policy negotiations, including mitigation, finance, gender, loss and damage, ACE, and just transition.

  • Our delegates have convened, host, and participated in 300+ events, sharing their climate policy perspectives and stories for a climate just future.

  • Delegates facilitated training to countries’ ACE Focal Points and NDC decision-makers on meaningful youth inclusion practices.
