Organization Support:

Fundraising & Grant Writing (1-2 needed)

Support continued growth of Care About Climate through finding and applying for grants, meeting or calling potential and current donors, and facilitating donor thank you’s (notes, gifts, recognition, etc). 

  • Assist program directors with creating project timelines and budgets to be able to support their fundraising needs.

  • Build relationships and share our brand and vision with potential donors, foundations, and other powerful people within climate change and education circles.

Online Youth Exchange Support:

OYE Curriculum Developer (1-2 needed)

  • Develop educational tools for Online Youth Exchange and Climate Ambassador programs for participants ages 16-35

  • Determine learning objectives and develop course content with Program Directors

  • Develop lesson plans, lecture outlines/scripts, appropriate assessments of learning, etc

  • Work with program director to launch by October 2019

  • Help on-board mentors/instructors, and evaluate video lecture submissions received from our international partners

  • Integrate hands-on and cross cultural learning experiences into the online classroom through exploratory tasks. 

  • Support evaluation of programs on a quarterly basis. 

  • Ensure educational value of program

  • Help create program reports, marketing materials and funding materials. 

Expected Workload: 25 hours/month through October; 15 hours/month after

Develop educational tools for Online Youth Exchange and Climate Ambassador programs for participants ages 16-35. 

  • Work with program director and curriculum developers to obtain learning objectives and share course content with students.

  • Provide mentors and educational value to students, to prepare them for their local or global environmental work. 

  • Develop critical skills in students to be able to continue on to Climate Ambassador programs, and/or be more marketable in the progressive world.

  • Adapt lessons to meet the needs and abilities of the students.

  • Execute lesson plans, give lecture outlines/scripts, assess homework assignments and quizzes,

  • facilitate forum discussions so as to stay 1) on topic 2) positive, useful and relevant 3) kind

  • Work with OYE team to launch by October 2019

  • Help evaluate video lecture submissions received from our international partners

  • Integrate hands-on and cross cultural learning experiences into the online classroom through exploratory tasks. 

  • Support evaluation of programs on a quarterly basis.

  • Monitor readership and analytics to help inform growth of the program

  • Work with social media/graphics team to publicize new content

  • Ensure proper citations are used for references, quotes and images. 

  • Support writers/contributors to maintain a level of journalistic integrity.

  • Maintain a level of journalistic integrity.

Translator & contributor to Women & Gender focused database. 

  • Be fluent in 2 (or more) languages, one of which includes English, Spanish or Portuguese. 

  • Provide accurate translations of posts including intent, spelling, grammar, and appropriate idiomatic expressions.

  • Commit to consistent submissions of translations on a regular deadline established by the editor and program director. 

  • Work with the program director to determine needs. 

  • Work with social media/graphics team to publicize new content across different languages and cultures

  • Work with other translators of the same language to ensure accuracy. 

  • Support writers/contributors to maintain a level of journalistic integrity. 

Expected workload: 1-3 hours/post
