Founder and Director
Renata is a graduate in International Relations from Unisinos, in Porto Alegre, Brazil, where she was born and raised. She has been doing research on climate justice and gender equality for over 4 years, having presented her work in China, Bangladesh, the U.S., Germany and Brazil. She also followed the human rights negotiations with the delegation of Brazil at COP21 in Paris. Renata developed EmpoderaClima as a mentee at Care About Climate's mentorship program, the Online Youth Exchange. She currently works as a Political Analyst at the British Consulate in Rio de Janeiro.
Alvaro is from Casablanca, Chile. He graduated from Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Valparaiso with a dual-degree & license in Religion and Education. Alvaro is currently the General Coordinator of the 15th Conference of Youth, this year in Chile. With Care About Climate, he's also Curriculum Director for the Online Youth Exchange and Mentor.
Hugo studies International Affairs at Unisinos, in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Uniting his passion for design and world related topics, essentially the Middle East, Culture, Social Studies and Latin America, he has experience in both areas. He is currently Secretary-General at VI UNIMUN, and also Arts and Culture Coordinator at Unisinos’ International Relations Academic Centre, building the project’s visual identity. Hugo is familiar with video/photo editing, besides visual identity building and social media design.
Shannon Greene is a social science graduate with a masters in human rights law from Ireland. Passionate about the intersection of gender equality, women’s rights and climate justice, she has a strong awareness in integrating social and ecological justice. She is currently researching women’s participation in climate negotiations through a human rights lens. Additionally, she has completed research on ecofeminism and how the human rights of women and other marginalised groups are affected by environmental degradation. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, long walks on the beach, and smashing the patriarchy.
Bethan Prescott is from the United Kingdom and is a graduate in Foreign Languages (French, Spanish and Portuguese) and Foreign Affairs from La Rochelle University, France. She has previously worked for Humanitarian and Environmental NGOs. She attended COP23 as a representative of Fundación Biosfera and followed the negotiations with the delegation of Argentina. She has also worked as a volunteer translator for WWF. She is passionate about climate justice and is currently on an eco-friendly world trip, spreading the word about good environmental actions.
